Jose is an experienced estate attorney and professional fundraiser with experience in all aspects of planned giving, government affairs, and not-for-profit governance. He was the Executive Director of Government Relations, Fundraising and Special Counsel to the President at LaGuardia Community College in Queens, New York, for ten years. He also served as Executive Director and major gift officer for the college foundation.

Jose is a registered Professional Fund Raiser in New York State, specializing in securing all types of planned gifts. Prior to joining LaGuardia in 2002, Mr. Orengo was the Deputy Borough President of Manhattan and served as a legislative attorney for the Health and Youth committees in the New York City Council.

Born in Puerto Rico and reared in the South Bronx, Mr. Orengo, attended the City University of New York earning a bachelor's degree at Queens College and a law degree at the CUNY Law School. He is a licensed attorney in New York, the United States Supreme Court and the federal circuit.

Kim Jordan works as CARE's Planned Giving Paralegal in the headquarters office in Atlanta, Georgia. Kim is in charge of our charitable gift annuity and trust programs as well as overseeing all estate management. If you are a donor and need to change your banking information or, if you are an attorney, overseeing an estate, Kim is here to help! She has worked in legal services for almost 20 years and received her Paralegal Certification from the University of Georgia in 2013. She comes to CARE after ten years with the Arthritis Foundation where she was the Manager of Trust and Estate Settlement.

When not working Kim enjoys cooking, reading, entertaining, and fellowship with family and friends.

Beth Autrey, CFRE has spent 26 years as a planned giving professional helping donors to maximize their philanthropy. She began her tenure with The Salvation Army in 1990 as an Associate Planned Giving Director for Alabama and was promoted to Divisional Planned Giving Director for Alabama-Louisiana and Mississippi in 1999. In 2014, she accepted the position of Director of Planned Giving for Millsaps College, a small liberal arts college in Jackson MS. Beth is a graduate of Ursinus College located in Collegeville, PA with a degree in Economics and Business Administration. In 1995 she completed the course on Planned Giving from the Philanthropy Tax Institute. She was awarded her CFRE, Certified Fund Raising Executive, in 1998.

Beth is a frequent speaker and consultant on Charitable Estate Planning and Charitable Tax strategies to various groups including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, bar associations, retirement groups, professional groups, and civic organizations.

Beth and her husband Dan, a retired chef, are in the process of relocating to Birmingham, AL where they met and both have family. Beth was active in her community serving as president of her neighborhood association, board member of Mississippi Girl Choir and volunteering with The Hoops Project with Broadmeadow United Methodist Church.

David Disend is the Sr. Director of Development, Planned Giving for CARE. Based in San Francisco, David helps donors in the western part of the United States think about the most advantageous ways for them to make gifts that benefit CARE's mission. David started his career as an English teacher and school administrator. He began his university career at Georgetown University, and later served as a college and university vice president for almost 20 years. David had an active fundraising consulting practice with clients around the US. He immersed himself in the possibilities of planned giving when he led the national program in philanthropic planning for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Heidi brings a variety of development experience to her role in planned giving that spans major gifts, corporate giving, workplace campaigns, annual fund, digital, and grant management. In her current role, Heidi connects with CARE donors who wish to support our mission through varying methods of giving to enhance CARE's impact now and for future generations.

Heidi's passion for international development stems from her time in the Peace Corps where she focused on public health and sustainable development. Her recognition that lasting change often relies on the generosity of others is what inspired her to pursue a career in planned giving. Helping connect people with opportunities to leave a legacy that helps others is an inspiring process that Heidi feels honored to be a part of.

Before CARE, Heidi worked for several other non-profits, including Tufts University's Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, and WaterAid. Ms. Charlebois earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Motor Developmental Therapy from Bridgewater State University, and her Masters in Arts degree in International Development and Social Change from Clark University.

When Heidi is not working, she spends time with her family which consists of a human partner, Patrick, two perfect rescue dogs, Baxter and Codi, and one cat, Kismet, who was found wandering on the side of the road late one summer evening. Together they enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking, touring, watersports, chopping wood, and home improvement projects.
