Sue was raised in Illinois and attended Iowa State University. She met and married her husband, Mike, at Iowa State where he was finishing his degree in construction engineering. Sue and Mike lived in South Florida for twenty years before moving to Atlanta in 1993. By then they had two young children who were enrolled at the Montessori school in Atlanta. Sue began her career in development as the school's very first director of development. She received her M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis on Institutional Advancement (development) in 2001. She has worked in planned giving for 25 years.
She is passionate about her work because it gives her the opportunity to build close relationships with donors and to work closely with them to achieve their goals for family and philanthropy. There's no greater honor than to work with the most generous people in the world!
In her free time, Sue enjoys reading and playing with her dog, Charlie. Their children, Libby and Ryan, are now grown and practicing physicians.Elizabeth Truscott
Liz has always had a passion for philanthropy and helping others. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2015 with a Bachelor's in Social Work. As part of her education, she fulfilled a year-long internship with a local nonprofit, where she became interested in the development side of nonprofit work. Shortly after graduating, Liz moved to Atlanta where she accepted a fundraising internship with New American Pathways, an organization that provides numerous services for the local refugee population. Liz quickly grew to appreciate fundraising as a profession that marries her passion for helping others and her interpersonal skills. In June 2017, she joined CARE as the Development Coordinator for Planned Giving. She enjoys getting to know CARE's donors very much and handles all of their requests. In her free time Liz enjoys running, doing anything outside, and trying new restaurants in Atlanta.
